The proceedings have been made available at the TSFP series website.

22 July 2022
TSFP12 has closed with a great success. Executive and Local Organizing Committees thank all the contributors and partipants.
The pre-recorded videos will be kept viewable to the participants until July 31.
We look forward to seeing you again in TSFP13, Montreal, June 25-28, 2024.

15 July 2022
The conference package including the Zoom links etc. is available to the registered participants.
Please visit the Registrant zone of the NTA website to download it.
The authors of missing videos are advised to upload it as soon as possible.

5 July 2022
The final program has been posted.

22 June 2022
Detailed program has been posted. The contact authors are adviced to read also the notes in the mail sent on June 22 with Subject: [TSFP12] Detailed program posted.

7 June 2022
On June 1, I sent a mail to the contact authors with Subject: [TSFP12] Instruction for uploading your pre-recorded video. This mail contains the link for uploading the pre-recorded video. If you are the contact author and did not receive this email (from tsfp12-sg[at]tsfp12.org) and if you cannot find it in your spam folder either, please contact the Secretary General (Koji Fukagata; tsfp12-sg[at]tsfp12.org).

28 February 2022
The decision mail has been sent to the contact authors. If you are a contact author and did not receive this email (from tsfp12-sg[at]tsfp12.org) and if you cannot find it in your spam folder either, please contact the Secretary General (Koji Fukagata; tsfp12-sg[at]tsfp12.org) including the Submission ID for your abstract (in that case, please note that it may take up to 24 hours to reply due to the time difference).

24 February 2022
We are happy to announce that Dennice Gayme (Johns Hopkins University) has been selected as the TSFP12 Nobuhide Kasagi Award winner.
Her award lecture "A coherent structure based approach to modeling wall-bounded turbulence" is scheduled on the first day of TSFP12.

Important notice (updated on 19 January 2022)

We were planning to hold TSFP12 "in person" in Osaka. However, from the recent world-wide situation and the continuous restriction on new entries to Japan, the Excective Committe has regrettably decided to replace it with an online meeting.

The conference dates are unchanged: i.e., July 19-22, 2022. The registation fee will be JPY 20,000, with no difference between early-bird/late or regular/student.
Other details will be posted later on this webpage. We appreciate your kind understanding.

Previous conference proceedings
The series of biennial TSFP Symposia is the principal venue for reporting and disseminating recent and ongoing research on turbulence and shear flow phenomena. Previous successful TSFP symposia were held in Santa Barbara, California (1999), Stockholm, Sweden (2001), Sendai, Japan (2003), Williamsburg, Virginia (2005)†, Munich, Germany (2007), Seoul, Korea (2009), Ottawa, Canada (2011), Poitiers, France (2013), Melbourne, Australia (2015), Chicago, USA (2017), and Southampton, UK (2019). The symposium will feature invited speakers, peer-reviewed conference proceedings and poster presentations.

TSFP12 provides the opportunity to report new discoveries and developments in the fundamental and applied research on turbulence and shear flow phenomena. Apart from traditional focal points, such as DNS, LES, turbulence closures and experiments, the organisers of TSFP12 wish to give particular emphasis to the following topics:
Instability and transition to turbulence Turbulence and heat/mass transfer control
Modelling and simulation of complex flows Plasma and MHD turbulence
Turbulence in reacting and multiphase systems Biological, biomedical and clinical flows
Noise generation and fluid-structure interaction Machine learning for discovery in turbulence
Environmental, geophysical and compressible turbulence Data assimilation and turbulent flow reconstruction
Advanced techniques for turbulence measurements
